Allen Meadows: As would be reasonable to expect, this is slightly more refined with a ripe and highly complex sexy and spicy red berry fruit nose trimmed by discreet oak notes that complement well the delicious, intense, fresh and balanced flavors that possess plenty of punch and vibrancy on the firm, fine and long finish. The velvety texture of the finish contributes to this sense of refinement. The class of this group of Chambolle 1ers in '06 (91-93).
Stephen Tanzer: Deep red. Highly perfumed aromas of strawberry, rose petal and musky minerality. Supple, sweet and wonderfully aromatic in the mouth, with palate-staining red fruit, mineral and spice flavors and terrific sappy energy. Finishes with superb lift. Wow! Unfortunately, there's just a single barrel of this juice. This sample was clearly superior to all that had preceded it (91-94).
